This smoke gets rid of the midgies, but.......

........ it does attract other, much bigger, insects.

We had a bit of a coup this afternoon in school. Andrew, the Biology teacher (and also a member of the Mountain Rescue Team, ) arranged for the team to come and do some demonstrations with his Outdoor Ed. class. This included a demo with the rescue dogs. (Unfortunately, the dogs found the kids.)

As a "wee" surprise, Andrew got the coastguard helicopter to do a demo as well.

What a brilliant sight; and because I was taking photos, my class had to forego their guitar lesson. It was really heartbreaking not to have to teach beginners' guitar for 2 hours on a Friday afternoon.

I think I'll get over it.
