Rangitoto Island

Woke up at 3am to hear Tim munching crisps! He came back to bed after a while and we dozed on and off until 4:30am, then gave in about 5am and sat up to read for a while. Once we'd got up properly and had a delicious breakfast in our hotel, we set out to visit Rangitoto Island, a volcanic island just off the coast from Auckland. Had a great walk up to the top of the volcano, via some lava caves (one of which we crawled and walked right the way through), and also walked round the rim of the crater.

Still feeling very jet lagged all afternoon back in Auckland - went for an early dinner in 'Food Alley' and had another early night (though not as early as last night!)
