Eva's first night in her cot in her own bedroom...

Eva is in her own bedroom tonight. In fact, it's 9.20pm as I type this and she's still not asleep. Mike is now in there with her and I've been watching them on the camera, of him giving her his phone to play with, which stops her crying every time. She loves it. I made up the cot with all her new, freshly washed bedding and set the monitor and camera up earlier, whilst Mike bathed her. When she was dry and in her babygrow, we just sat her in the cot surrounded by her familiar soft toys and My Pal Violet, and she was more than happy. Every day since she was born she's been in that bedroom to be washed and dressed, and I've sat her in the cot many a time whilst I've nipped to get her warm water for her wash etc, so she knows her room well. It's obviously different to actually being left in there to sleep though. She's also been sleeping in a travel cot since she outgrew her Moses basket, so she has 2 huge new things to get used to. I had a cry to myself earlier whilst Mike was bathing her and I was putting her sheet on. I wish she could sleep in our room forever. I can hear her "aaaaaahhhh"ing away on the monitor right now, bless her. I hope she settles ok. Mike's just walked out of her room and she's rolled onto her front and has started crying again :-( awwwww she's giving My Pal Violet her num nums (watching her on the camera). Mike's gone back in and has taken her his work phone to hold.

Anyway, back to today, if I can concentrate.....

We walked round to see Leah and Noah again this morning (when I took yesterday's blip photos) as they're in Birmingham staying at Ollie's parents' house literally round the corner from us. Noah had me in hysterics. Leah was saying to him "give susss to Eva, Noah" which is Welsh for kiss, and he was literally climbing on her giving her cuddles and kisses. I did keep checking she was ok, as Noah was very enthusiastic in his cuddling lol, but she was fine, it was very comical! Eva had a lovely time playing with some of Noah's toys, especially the little plastic buttons in different shapes and colours that you thread onto the little strings. Leah and I, as usual, chatted for England, and Leah also took some photos of Eva. We had a lovely time.

I put Eva down for her sleep when we got back, her last sleep in our room in her travel cot. She had about 2 hours, then off we went for a coffee and a catch up round my brother's house. Eva gave her Uncle John some lovely cuddles when she saw him, awwww. It was lovely going to visit him, instead of him always being the one to come here. (First quarter of today's pic)

........I don't want to tempt fate here, but I think Eva is asleep..... It's 9.50pm........

I'd had a stew cooking in the slow cooker all day, so when Mike got in from work, we all sat down to beef stew and bread to dunk. So Eva had her very first stew. She made a right old mess but she loved it. :-) then Mike took Jake off to youth club at his school, he went there for the first time tonight and said he enjoyed it. We've been trying to encourage Jake to try different things, so it was a breath of fresh air when he said he'd like to go to youth club.

Eva has done more waving bye bye today. Soooo cute when she does it.

.... It's 9.55pm and Eva is asleep, in her own room....for the first time...let's see what the night beholds..... Xxx

Added at 11.30pm.... Eva woke up crying at 11pm, I went up, gave her a cuddle and a teething powder, she did a huge burp..... I had a gentle chat with her that she was going to be ok, that Mommy and Daddy could see her and hear her and we weren't far away, and that if she needed us, we would come, but that she's got a lovely new bed and bedroom and had got all her toys and that I loved her so very much. I then took her into our room for a top up feed, carried her back into her room, lay her in her cot, she snuggled straight in to Snuggle Bear, I put num nums in her mouth, and touch wood, she's gone straight back to sleep. Xxx

Added at 01.30am... Eva woke up again and has been very upset, proper breaking her heart crying, which has been just horrible! Bloody horrible! She's had more cuddles and done yet another couple of burps, but I swear it was all that crying that's given her wind! I think she's asleep again. Just been watching her on the camera and she was stroking My Pal Violet as if to comfort herself, but I want to be the one to comfort her - feeling sad :-( xxx
