Broken but tough

I've walked past a sapling that someone snapped and tried to break right off for months now. The tearing of the wood caught my eye today, the almost starburst of the broken fibres. I suspect if it's left alone it will keep on growing, as the bark isn't quite broken, so an odd shaped tree will be there for years to come. A bit like people - they never quite break, just take the things that life throws, and keep on, growing in an odd way. That's the end of the random pondering!!
