Petra

We started the day with cooked breakfasts at our hotel, then we climbed to the top of Berwick Law where we chatted with a local who told us that one of the islands were bought by a self-proclaimed psychic on the basis that the islands of Fidra, Lamb and Craigleith are (apparently like the Egyptian pyramids of Giza) identical to the configuration of the three stars on Orion's Belt in that constellation. Which, standing on top of Berwick Law with its magnificent view of that chain of four islands, seemed an almost pathologically-extreme example of cherry-picking one's data.

We then had a lovely coffee and brownies break at the cafe kept by this subject. It had big dining room like tables that helped encourage conversations between the customers and the staff. I told her that I liked the way the lightbulbs were dangling around her here.
