Parrot
Not a real one, but real colorful none-the-less. We were taken to comida by friends today as long as we picked a place with no Anglos, they were looking for a a true local eating experience. That can be a little difficult to accomplish this time of year, but we persevered and returned to Mariscos al Tiburon de La Costa in a town north of Ixtapa called Bario Viejo. We had been introduced to this restaurant back in August by our Spanish teacher and had been aching to try it again. Fresh, very fresh, seafood is their specialty. Gerry, our host, treated us to a variety of appetizers so we were able to sample as much of this wonderful food as possible. My favorite was the tuna steak, cooked perfectly and extremely flavorful. True to our task, we saw no other Anglo face even though the place was packed. I thought I had blipped the large shark the last time I was here, so concentrated on other animal decorations, like this parrot, and didn't even shoot the 10 meter shark overhead. I had not, however, but certainly will the next time we visit.
