No this is not the whole New Zealand Airforce,just some of it. This is an RNZAF UH-1H Iroquois Helicopter flying across a RNZAF C130 Hercules. The chopper had just dropped troops of and the Herc had landed and was unloading stores. This is part of the Exercise Southern Katipo. My Beret goes off to these members of our Tri Service and our supportive nations who are on this exercise with their open friendship in allowing the public to get in close and see whats going on while still being able to continue their full role. When I served we trained in Jungle Warfare and close country, I was fortunate enough to go on exercise with 1 RNZIR twice in the Malaysian Jungle in 1980 and 86.
Today this 11th day of the 11th Month at the 11th hour we remember and celebrate Armistice Day, the Cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War One.
We remember the Soldiers who never returned. Lest we forget
