Funny Flame

This is my blip because it fascinated me how the flame of this tealight did the splits.

Lovely meal at the King's Arms this evening and a very interesting talk from our local diver Ron Howell. He is one of a group of amateur divers, whose team have discovered bronze-age treasure under the sea, proving for the first time in history that there was trade between Sicily and Devon three and a half thousand years ago. It's amazing to realise that trade was widespread even then, and to look at the fine metalwork our ancestors achieved all those millennia ago! We'd already seen some of the gold treasure at the British Museum, but never knew that a neighbour was one of the team that found it.

I'm afraid the Nauti Buoys that followed were a bit of a disappointment. Nice enough guys, singing their sea shanties with gusto, but not the tight harmony I'd hoped for - a bit hit and miss. But the evening was generally a hit, and we will miss the pub. They are opening for Sunday roast tomorrow lunchtime, so that really will be our last meal there.
