I shall miss walking into the pub

... not least for the wonderful grub!

Sadly, after just 16 months of their best efforts, the folks running our village pub, The King's Arms, are giving up. We're so sad. We've just had our last Friday lunch there. Unfortunately, there are only a couple of dozen villagers who support the place and they can't survive through the winter on the short summer season's tourist trade.

It's such a shame. I shall miss setting eyes on this lovely tiled entrance hallway, too. Tomorrow night, they're having a special themed evening of sea shanties from a group called The Nauti Buoys and a talk from a local diver on the treasures he's retieved from the sea. Our table's booked for the pub's last hoorah.

Oh - and they also did The Best Ever Fish'n'Chips takeaway! Sigh.
