Home to Roost
An absolutely brilliant day at RSPB Titchwell Marsh! The weather was quite cold but fairly pleasant to start with, then it turned a bit overcast, but after a sharp shower, it brightened up and the twilight was lovely. We went down to the beach first of all, where we saw gulls, oystercatchers, sanderling, redshank, linnet, godwit, turnstone and surprisingly a sandwich tern. On the salt marsh there were redshank, curlew and shelduck and on the freshwater, wigeon, teal, shoveler, pintail, gadwall, lapwing and Brent geese. Yes, Brent geese are unblipped, but I'm gambling on getting a better shot before the week is out. The day concluded with sightings of both barn owl and short-eared owl. All day, there were geese flying in and out of the reserve. I think these, flying in as the sun set, were pink-footed geese.
Struggling with wifi at our lovely cottage, so apologies for lack of comments if it doesn't kick in.
