At the ready

Timaru had forces land from the sea today, The Navy were off loading troops and vehicles on to landing craft and a French military helicopter, flying off a French frigate was flying around doing observations. These troops have secured the Port area of Timaru as part of the largest Military exercise to be held in New Zealand Exercise Southern Katipo 13. There will be tri service personnel from all over the world here for 2 weeks. These 2 Soldiers are from 1 Battalion which is housed in Linton.
