Autumn Colours, Pottal Pool

This small wood is next to the busy A34 just on the edge of Cannock Chase. For whatever reason it is always a riot of autumn colours at this time of year. Perhaps it is the mix of deciduous trees. I drove past it this afternoon in the pouring rain. Rather than dulling the colours the rain seemed to bring out the wonderful hues.

I intend to be in the area again on Sunday, when the weather is forecast to be frosty and sunny. It'll be interesting to see if the colours are any better.
