Things That Go Bang in the Night
Jenny & me made our way to the old, local town of Lindfield to enjoy the quaint Bonfire Night celebrations held there.
We had some butcher carved & made pulled-pork, crackling & apple sauce baps to satisfy our hunger, we wore our woolly hats, scarves & gloves to warm our cockles & we lined the street with hundreds to see the wooden Guy & the bonfire striped-clad, fire brandishing societies roll & march their way towards their inevitable fiery doom (specifically the Guy, the societies haven't done anyone any harm, not that I know of anyway!).
The night ended in traditional fashion with the herds of onlookers standing in a muddy & badly lit field, to 'ooh' & 'aww' at an array of colourful & pretty fizzers, poppers, crackers, & bangers (fireworks basically) that filled the pitch black, night sky.
I was impressed with the fireworks setting on my little camera - strange that I don't ever remember trying it out though. And I was also quite thrilled to have successfully not featured the ice cream van that was parked just out of frame, bottom right, whilst taking the shot. It was doing surprisingly good trade judging by the amount of people around us chomping on '99's. It's been a nippy, November night..!? I was in need of a third pair of socks & a cuppa without throwing an ice cream in to mix!..
