It's been a cleaning and tidying kind of day.
I got around to clearing my drawing board and a bit of my studio. I suppose I have a rather different set of favoured tools than a modern day designer might have. For me it was always a traditional drawing board instead of a Mac, a set of pens instead of an input tablet and reams of sensual paper. Not that I don't use a computer but I have never been a Mac type and standing at a board is a better way to work for me, at least when I am painting.
So now I have a clear working area and the pressure is on to produce some art I guess.
While I am on the subject - I miss the British Imperial paper and board sizes. Next to my ISO standard AO Blundell Harling 'Champion' board with parallel motion and red stand I have a wonderfully named 'Double Elephant' board. In the days before CAD, these wooden boards were regularly thrown out by the architects where I worked because, without tape to secure their plans, the corners became pock-marked with pin holes and after a while became unserviceable. I rescued mine from a skip. It is beautifully made, has an ebony edge to take a T square, proper sliding stretchers to allow the wood to expand and contract and grooves underneath to prevent warping.
The image is the woodland near the river I have blipped several times recently. Today there was a soft light filtering through the trees.
