Voodoo doll

Not the kind that causes a corresponding effect when pins are stuck in it, but this is part of a real Haitian Vodou altar and a suitable subject for a Halloween blip. The individual items here were innocuous enough in themselves but somehow in these combinations they acquired a distinctly sinister aspect. I didn't have to travel to Haiti for this picture - this one is on display in the Horniman Museum in London, along with too many other interesting things to begin to list. I can recommend it very highly.
