Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

My Mistake

In yesterday's blip, I made a big mistake and so I must correct it here and now.

I wrote that Mr. Fun had lost 25 pounds on his summer diet, and he has, but the total that he has lost is 33 pounds. "So Honey, forgive me that I had it wrong yesterday."

I learned my mistake while we were at church this morning and one of the little old ladies came up to him to get a hug (he absolutely loves old people and they love him). She told him she could tell that he has really lost some weight. She had put her arms around his tummy to hug him. That's when he said, "I've lost 33 pounds, 4 inches around my tummy, and 3 inches around my waistline." I thought to myself, "Uh oh! I've got to fix my blip!" So I now you have the truth.

This weekend he went hunting in his closet and located a half dozen nice trousers that are "like new" and he has not been able to wear for several years. That was a wonderful "find" in our closet and he had already found some smaller sized Hawaiian shirts that he is now enjoying.

I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoy putting my arms around him and hugging. He'll never be a skinny guy, but currently he is looking much more healthy to have some of that weight gone.

Well, tomorrow morning we'll be out early to get to the coast. We're going to have a healthy low calorie breakfast as close to the waves as we can get. Maybe here. It's the Labor Day Monday holiday here in America. We hope you all have a great Monday.

Good night from Southern California where today's high was 90 degrees in our city and now is 80 degrees. It's getting cooler -- woohoo!

P.S. Several of yesterday's comments asked about wheatgrass -- why is it good for us and what does it taste like. Well, here's a page that tells some of its benefits and we both think it tastes like fresh mowed grass (honest, we've never eaten fresh mowed lawn, but we're sure that if we did it would taste like wheatgrass juice). The juice store gives us a "chaser" to quickly eliminate the flavor.
