For a Bonfire

The sun has been shining all day and there has been no wind...

Just the day for a bonfire and a bit of a tidy up around the rhubarb.

Up until yesterday I would then have put a mulch of something very nourishing around the rhubarb. However now I learn that because rhubarb loves a cold frosty spell it is best to refrain from mulching and leave it to the spring.

I have it in mind, when it gets really cold, to lift one of my old rhubarb crowns and split it up for propagation.

You can never have enough rhubarb, especially when most of mine gets brewed up into champagne.
