A view from Jeanneb

November

1st of November and a glorious morning. You wouldn't think so now as the heavens have opened once again but we had nearly two hours of crisp autumn sunshine on our morning walk.

We headed for Marley as the woods around there are the best bet for spotting deer. With this in mind I took my telephoto lens. Returning towards Ravenroyd we were rewarded by a hind on the path but she very quickly hopped up into the woods. Looking up the hill we spotted two but they were quite elusive. This is the best shot I could manage. We were quite amused that, like little children, they seemed to think that if their heads were hidden behind the tree trunks they were not visible but this just made for shots of head less deer.

I went for this shot as I liked the early light filtering through the trees as we followed the River Aire back onto Bingley. The river is high and fast flowing and we had a moment of panic when Toby decided he would swim across it! With lots of shouting we managed to persuade him back to,the bank as he was definitely in danger of being swept away!

Have a good weekend everybody.
