Pringles cushion?!?!
Up at 2.30am. Marie-Lou had cut up some fruit for us early this morning before we left by taxi. She had to pre-book a taxi for us as the guards outside the little village have to know why they are coming in. We have been told that the taxi drivers out here are really dodgy as lots of them carry guns. Apparently there are lots of white kidnapping going on as well. Anyway, we got to the airport safely. Taxi was a lot cheaper than the last one we took. The plane was really small to go to Tagabilaran and when we arrived we didn't have to show our passports and there was only 1 conveyor belt that was tiny. We took a tricycle from the airport to one of the hostels in the lonely planet. We could have easily walked there so we got annoyed with the tricycle man. It was so expensive though. The tricycle man told us he knew a cheap place so we trusted him and hopped back into his tiny tricycle vehicle. The other place was a lot lot cheaper than but still expensive. We booked in there and slept until midday. It feels like we are back in Myanmar as we are the only white people. We took a tricycle to ICM shopping mall so we could buy Margie presents for tomorrow. We had lunch in a place that is like McDonalds but in Filipino style! Had a very strange chicken dish with rice. We then wondered around the shopping mall. Bought masses of stuff for Margie. We went into Home and Garden so many times that they all knew us pretty well. We got laughed at because when we came out of the shop, we tried to back our bags better. So we sat on the floor and unpacked things and then packed the bags again. Lots of men working in the shop stood at the window and watched us. So I got my camera out and pretended to take a picture. They moved away quite quickly but slowly came back. We got a big wave from them as we left. We look like we are going to be sticking around Bohol island after all our purchases. We sat and used the Internet in one of the cafes before heading back to the room. I got all the presents organised for tomorrow. Wrapped up the bracelet and necklace nicely for Margie which I bought on the Gili Islands for a late Birthday present. Up early tomorrow to catch a local bus to get to where Margie lives. Very excited!
