Happy Samhuinn!
It's that time of year again when I get dressed up, put on body paint and go and perform on the Royal Mile. This year I was heading up our team of Bucketeers, a love bunch of smiley happy people who mingled with the crowds, talked (and often shouted) their hearts out to encourage donations for our charity so we can continue putting on fantastic festivals.
I was asked by a member of the crowd, what was I supposed to be. Well I wasn't supposed to -be- anything so a bit of fast thinking, dressed in blue, clearly I was a water nymph. It was a good night, buckets had to be swapped out for empty ones and there was quite a bit of paper went in too. We'll know exactly how much we raised later in the week when we have time to sit down and count it all. As a charity run entirely by volunteers and with costs to put on the event rising every year we really rely on the donations that come in on the night to ensure we can continue in the future, they don't even come close to covering the cost of the event but it makes a dint in it.
This was a quick self portrait snap before leaving the house.
