Tribal man with his grandson

We moved into a dorm room today as our room is booked for tonight. We decided to wear our longyis for the last time as we won't get a chance to wear them again. Breakfast was the same... toast and radioactive jam! It is quite cool though as they have a toaster at each table. Somehow the bread never ever toasts properly out here though. We took some funny selftimer photos of us both in our longyis. Just before we were about to leave an old lady came into the dorm room and just had a nap on one of the beds. We took a taxi to Shwedagon Pagoda and had to go through security before being aloud to go up the lift to then walk to the pagoda. Again, we weren't aloud to wear any shoes. It was so sore on our feet as they had a red plastic carpet thing down which dug into your feet but if you didn't walk on the red bit you would slip around on the other surface! Again... stared at by everyone. Had to get pictures with people again! We saw the French man there lying down in one of the smaller pagoda, super strange! The pagoda was gigantic and pretty gold!! Took a taxi back to our hostel. Wrote lots of cards to people and tried getting the addresses from Mother. We rang U Ott Ta Ma to say our goodbyes as we had promised him we would. It was funny chatting over the phone to him! Packed our gigantic bags. Was just about to go to sleep when a guy staying in the dorm room came in. He chatted for ages until eventually I told him we were getting up early in the morning! He had just got back from seeing his sponsored child. Off to Malaysia tomorrow!!

This picture is from our trek in the mountains near Inle lake. The ones of the golden pagoda are on my memory card.
