And a free pudding!!

Met up with a friend today for lunch at a canalside pub just outside Bath. It was a chilly but gorgeous day so the plan was a quick bite to eat then a bracing walk along the canal.

After waiting an hour for our food to arrive, we reminded the waitress who disappeared and quickly reappeared with two plates. However, the food turned out to be lukewarm. Flagged down a different waitress, who turned out to be the Manager, apologies were given and a fresh meal was ordered and delivered, along with further apologies, and the offer of a free pudding!

So as our quick bite had turned into a two and half hour meal, there was no time for the walk. But as we'd had a delicious meal, in a beautiful, historic pub, beside a roaring log fire, and with plenty of time to catch up on the gossip, we weren't complaining, especially as we had a free pudding!!
