River........in Flood

When it rains continuously on the West Coast of NZ the rivers on the East Coast rise and can be in flood.

The mighty Hurunui River, brown and dirty in flood, as it mingles with the blues of the Pacific Ocean. This is the river on a normal day, there is even a lagoon where the river splits into two but not so today. Although it looks reasonably calm and lovely in the light the current was racing along and the wind was still howling from yesterday - hubby was sheltering me and hanging on to me so I could get a reasonable shot and not end up flying!

Catching up on backblips, the process could take me a day or two but all is good. I'll be back when time and eyes allow.
