Autumn storm

Rumours abound of a huge storm about to batter the UK and consequently - although for reasons too complex to go into - I ended up having to go into the office today.

At lunchtime, I popped out to grab some food and drink, a snapped this picture of a tree. I rather liked the colours, anyway, but it was blowing about in the wind, which seemed portentous of the incoming storm.

However, nearly twelve hours later, I'm sat here in bed, writing this post, with the window open and the curtains hardly stirring: it can be all too easy to read omens into the commonplace.

(This is going to be so ironic if my home gets blown away, tonight.)
