Say cheese
We finally made it. Just.
The day started well with a trip to the Farmers' Market and the allotment. Still got time for a quick trip to Stonehenge? Should have. Oh hang on we need to pop to the supermarket briefly on the way (stupidly we'd finished the FM before the shops opened). Oh and the traffic will be interminably bad. Again.
No turning around this time. We were going in but we only had half an hour before closing so a gentle walk around the stones this time. We'll have to leave the planned walk down to the river for another day. And that will be planned with military provision now we've learned the new road layout and reccied a different way in that doesn't need us to go on the A303 at all.
Secretly, I was quite glad for the enforced gentle flat walk today. Nice to get out into the fresh air. A little bit of wind never did anyone any harm* and our luck with the rain continued to hold so a lovely day. I even got some decent photos considering but there's something about this that appealed. It also is more representative of reality at the site than the more picture postcard shots. In the first 100 yards we had to pause every few steps to avoid being in someone's photo and then we were asked to take one. Personally, much to my mother's chagrin, I've never seen the point of all those photos with people in front of something. Looks there's me and the Eiffel Tower, and me and the Taj Mahal. Just not me but then I hate having my photograph taken which might influence things a tad.

* A lot of wind on the other hand can be scary. Exhilarating, exciting but scary. I'm regretting my decision to work tomorrow seeing as I'm meant to be in a little portacabin on the waterfront......
