Gould's Ground

It was a lovely sunny morning so we thought we'd make the most of the lull before the storm and went for a walk around the Trinity area of Frome. Back in 1975, the area was threatened with demolition, as the houses were thought to be from the 19th century and little better than slums - many were already derelict. Some demolition had already taken place in the 1960s. But then it was realised that that Trinity was an extremely rare example of 17th century industrial housing, and the area was saved. The Trinity area probably contributes to the fact that Frome has more listed buildings than any other town in Somerset.

We walked down Gould's Ground where we found this little alley. I've lived in Frome for virtually all my life, over 50 years, but had never seen it before!
