New York kind of sky
This bright blue sky in autumn always reminds me of New York. I've been there twice: once in September 1976 (my first trip out of the UK) and again when they had the free Hoover flight promotion going on. I think in the 90s? Rol and I went in January. Whenever I think of New York I think of 'blue skies and alibis'. I would love to return.
Anyways, today was a nice hanging-out kind of day. Rol did some work on a funeral he is delivering next week whilst I lolled about reading the papers and making lists; then we strolled into the city to get tickets for a Palestinian Solidarity Supper taking place in a couple of weeks time and had lunch at Take5.
We also - quite unexpectedly - found ourselves eyeing up onesies. I rather liked the one with a hood resembling the head of a giraffe whilst himself fancied the tabby cat design.
This evening we had drinks with a friend and his partner who are moving to Berlin. A lovely, relaxed but busy in a nice way kind of day.
There's lots of political stuff going on but at the moment I just feel a bit overwhelmed by it all so am taking a bit of time out. I shall leap back into the fray soon.
And this is Norwich Cathedral (the Anglican one) which is opposite Take5.
