Pitcox Road Junction
Pitcox is a tiny rural hamlet to the south west of Dunbar, probably no more than 20 dwellings. We had gone there to look at a row of derelict cottages but what caught my eye as I looked down the road through an avenue of trees was the variable lighting at the small road junction in the village. Combine that with a touch of red from the old style telephone box and you have and intriguing little corner of rural life.
Surpisingly it is also the home of Findlays Natural Mineral Water, the only mineral water bottling plant in East Lothian and a subsidiary of A G Barr. The water comes from a spring nearby.
