.....its a Katie gruffalo!
We've had a lovely day today. Katie had a few hours at nursery this morning and we wnt to go do the shopping for her birthday party on Sunday. I really enjoyed getting some exciting extra craft activities (its an Australian-themed art party!) and doing the shopping for the baking. Previously, due to time pressures/broken oven/other such situations friends have helped out by doing the basic cake for me and i've done the decorating, or a couple of her parties, a friend has done the whole thing. This time I'm doing it all and I'm so looking forward to it! We picked Katie up from nursery on the way home, just as they were finishing their lunch. She'd eaten every bit of a big roast dinner.
We came home and did some playing at home, plus a bit of sorting, ready for our first guests of the afternoon. The Cousins are both off school today and both their parents are home from work, so we got to have a much needed catch up. Katie was beside herself with excitement to show them her new house and her new playroom. We swapped presents, for a couple of occasions that have passed during our time in Australia. They offered Katie her present but she wouldnt open it. We ate afternoon tea and eventually she did open it. She was very very very pleased to find this gruffalo dressing gown in it. However, she insisted it be worn the other way round, right over her face. She was being really very funny as she pranced and roared as the back to front gruffalo.
Just when TheCousins had gone to their car, she put it on the right way round. I managed to get her out to their car to the window to roar at them. Then I managed to get 8 shots of her in it. At which point she turned it back to front again.
Since TheCousins left, we have fed & played with the rabbits, she helped me make a winter vegetable pie and she's now upstairs playing lego, awaiting the arrival of Granny and Grandad.
