Reset to factory settings
My TV technician arrived at the appointed time, 10am. He fiddled around a bit, reset it to factory standards, and that was it. The humming, of course was not present, so he couldn't comment on that.
As soon as he’d gone, I switched on, and I got the message,
‘There are no saved channels. Auto tune now?’
OMG! Typical. I rang the techies who talked me through a simple one click solution. Simple if you know how, that is. These 'smart' TVs are too smart for their own good.
I’ve been in email contact with the solicitor all day, saving a visit in person. I think he wants to avoid this... I pointed out one glaring discrepancy - the price we got for the house was listed at £10,000 less.
The email came back: ‘My mistake’…
So that makes it more reasonable, but I’ve been asking for clarity on a few other items. And I got the legend back,
‘I was terrible at arithmetic at school. Will look at this again…’
Well, he couldn’t have been more terrible at arithmetic than me. But then, I'm not selling houses and dealing with big numbers every day.
I had to resit my ‘O’ level arithmetic (which every Tom, Dick and Harry got first time, even if they got nothing else) several times and eventually passed in my final year (or maybe they felt sorry for me). I had to go into the exam, held in the assembly hall, with all the young kids and sit at the desk at the front with my name on it. Sooo embarrassing.
I’ve got two Gumtree people coming round to (hopefully) pick up items, so I popped out to test my knee. It’s not as bad as yesterday - no collapsing, but I’m definitely aware of it not being right. I also wanted to pop round to blip this bush I spotted the other day. No idea what it is.
I passed the shop which sells chocolate on the way round. I went in, picked up a big bar (£1 - such good value) and put it down again and walked out. And I had money - lest you think that was the reason. My semi-diet has started.
However, having bagged my shot, I then had to walk past the shop which sells chocolate again. This time I was weak. Very weak. Of course, I could have gone the other way...
