In the early years, this was always the difficult day, reconciling, not that there was ever anything missing, but the big issue was paper, the tiny pieces they give you as a receipt or invoice. (today we got one about four times the size of a stamp, with the handwritten legend in Tumbuka and Chinese!!).
As has become the usual now it was all checked in about an hour. Mary has a system, Casca has it to perfection and all was right to the nearest Kwacha.
It has always been our policy to be open and transparent about everything so Denise in the other corner out of shot was party to everything, no secrets.
We have just advertised for our first secretary, but like everyone else in the organisation has to be able to multitask and a advantage in her employment will be her ability to cycle, so no sitting in an office all day here!!
With all the recent expansion we just began a new office building (nothing fancy, just functional) yesterday, so next time I will be able to get Denise in-shot
