Happy birthday
We left early, 5.30, to start the return journey west. No rain, but the wind was still strong and the sea choppy. I decide that the best place was on deck rather than lurching around the cabin.
We were headed for Kalkan. It was assumed, wrongly, that we were going into the marina at Kalkan. This caused some disquiet later in the day. It was quite a long cruise and we for once we had lunch on the move. We moored in the bay where we had swum on day 2, under the palatial residence and swam and lazed. We are almost a convoy as we see the same gulets whop'd been sheltering with us now also heading west.
The food on board has been great and even in the storm the chef has made great meals, breakfast - the best was eggy bread, vegetarian lunch and dinner. No puddings though, just fruit. And there is afternoon tea, with biscuits, waggon wheels being the favourite.
But today was a special day. It was Emrye, our mate's, birthday and the chef had made chocolate cakes for afternoon tea. Very good too.
At night we had a BBQ, up in the prow. It took a while to get going and required assistance from our neighbours but it was good, until LA broke the atmosphere by asking about Kalkan and there was a discussion about where we go tomorrow our last day. Back to Gemiler was the decision. And then we all glossed over that and raved over the water melon hedgehog.
