Meercat impersonations

"What shall we play at today Bud" asks Poppy. "I know Pops lets play at being meercats" replies Buddy.

Today we had 2 great walks, the first one early in the morning was up Ormonde Hill. The second one, late afternoon, was - yes you've guessed it, up Ormonde Hill. Now why the same walk twice in one day, well it could be that I lost my leads and had to go back and find them, but no it wasn't that, it was the other one, I forgot my camera the first time round and as it was such a gorgeous day I thought "why not".

Ormonde Hill is the site of an ancient medieval stronghold that was destroyed by Oliver Cromwell. A cairn and flagpole were erected on the site in 1997 to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the raising of the Scottish standard by Andrew de Moray. There is a celebratory walk up to the cairn with a flag every year.

The dogs love the small hill, it is habited now by flocks/herds/whatever of rabbits, the droppings of which are (I cannot understand why) irresistible to dogs.

Bud also had a momentous day,he went to the groomers and had all his feathers taken off. He now looks very sleek and small! It will be better for him in the winter, he gets soaked and his hair acts just like a sponge and takes ages to dry, he gets really cold. Now he can dry off with a good towelling just like Poppy.
