Old Scott's Words
DDW's October Challenge Day 19 : Words
My Dad is an avid collector of books. The 84 feet of bookshelves in the sitting room are pretty much jam packed with millions of words divided up into hundreds of books.
The complete works of Sir Walter Scott makes up a small part of his collection - the books were passed to him by mum's Auntie Isabel, the former English teacher in the school here in Stromness. She was a wonderful lady, very well read and a force to be reckoned with. The leather bound collection has that lovely old book smell and looks great on the shelf. One day I may get round to reading some of them....
