Do spiders vacate their webs due to dew?

Thick fog this morning. Somewhat thinner on top of the hills.

All the same, every web along the way was in full view. Unlike dryish mornings when I walk right into them and then skitter about like Cecil Vyse fighting off gnats on the terrace in Room With a View.

I managed to dodge the webs along the way. Not to worry whether a rather large spider had maybe got tangled in my hair and was about to crawl into my ear ... or my nose ... or secret itself in the folds of my wooly, then spring forth as I shake myself out upon arrival.

So many webs, not many spiders. No idea where they`ve gone. I shall have to sleep with my eyes open.

Seems the wee scooter`s not shifted for a few hours, though.
