Tunica

The AL/MS AWWA conference is being held in an area called Tunica which is full of Casinos. I was very excited about coming to this area as its the heart of the Delta blues country. Famous for John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson selling his soul et al and more recently Johnny Cash and some guy called Elvis. Unfortunately I am out on a Casino resort. But this is just another side of the history here on the banks of the mighty river. What in the past would have been steam powered paddle boats full of gentlemen playing poker, smoking cigars with their guns at their side has now been replaced with these floating massive barges full of slot machines and old people smoking (maybe they just look old). Its a stunning area.
We went to the famous (so the food channel tell us) Memphis BBQ Company for ribs for dinner.
