Lode Channel
After all the city stuff of the last few days, we had a day in the country today. We drove out to National Trust's Anglesey Abbey and had a walk around the beautiful grounds then a look around the house which is quite unusual but also quite 'cosy' for a stately home. After having a bit of lunch there we toddled off to Wicken Fen nature reserve. We planned to see a Bittern and some Bearded Tits but of course they had other. We had a nice walk anyway and are back feeling a bit knackered.
My blip is the lode, a term used for a water course in eastern England. It leads down to the Lode Mill or watermill at Anglesey Abbey.
We're off tomorrow, heading down to Kent for part two of our journey.
Hope you've had a good day too.
David
