Funky Puppets at the Mackintosh Church
Today was Puppet Day at the Mackintosh Church as part of the Creative Mackintosh Festival.
This morning we had the fabulous Miriam Lambert, from the well-known Lambert family of puppeteers, present “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”, a classic story she brought to life in a unique style of puppetry.
Peek and Boo - her signature characters - opened the performance, using their international language of movement and slapstick comedy to guide the children to the tale of a little girl who pays a visit to the home of the adorable baby bear!
In the afternoon our friends at the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre, presented a puppet making workshop that delighted the children and adults. Everybody was able to make their own rod puppet, choose all the details from the colourful bits & bobs boxes and learn how to operate their puppet.
I liked the concentration in the face of this young girl during the making of her puppet.
What a great day. I am looking forward to the talk by Bill Hicks on the Grand Central Hotel tomorrow.
