Bad things happened...
... but not to me.
Our train from Carlisle was delayed by several hours outside Lancaster and we had to return to Oxenholme and then get on an already crowded and delayed train to London and sit on the floor all the way there.
That wasn't the bad thing.
The train had been delayed by a man ending his life on the line. I can't imagine how he must have been feeling. I can't imagine how his family and friends must be feeling tonight. Or the driver of the train which hit him.
The sun was shining, the sky was blue. From the train, I could see the Lake District hills. Everyone seemed to have places to go and things to do. But for one man, maybe the future felt like walking up a mountain.
