Scrumping
There are days when you wonder if it's worth getting out the camera, especially as I'm more of a pen & paper person (much easier, you don't have to rely on technology for one thing) and this morning was one of them. Rain spitting from a heavy sky, the fields full of cow pats, much to the dogs' delight & no colour anywhere to be found. But on the way home I called in to the abandoned allotment and saw these few plums left on the tree so I scrumped the lot. Now they're in a crumble with some demerara sugar and cinnamon & making the kitchen smell like heaven.
Think I need to up my camera skills though. This began as a way of keeping a photo diary for my fiftieth year, but there are so many inspiring photographs on this site that I feel a bit ashamed of my plums (so to speak). But having a camera to hand each day does make you see the extraordinary in the ordinary. So perhaps I shouldn't apologise for the plums after all.
