Shed

The weather has been so dire today I've hardly been out of the shed. I drove Eve to school this morning and the rain was so heavy that the wipers, even on full tilt, barely heaved the deluge aside. I forced myself to go for a run along the railway line, but the dogs were moody and kept turning for home (call themselves lurchers?!) so I only managed a couple of miles.

I got the fire going in the shed and sat down (half-heartedly, I admit) to some work. What I really wanted to do was read all day, but no chance. But the shed is such a conducive place to work, so silent and calm, that I soon geared myself up and began. How on earth did I once work in a blaring newsroom with phones and chatter going non-stop?
