Deep breath
I do sometimes forget that this is a diary and not a photographic competition. Although, in fairness, that standpoint has improved my abilities beyond anything I could have imagined when I started.
So here is a diary entry rather than an attempt at a clever clogs shot. For a change :)
A very early start for us. G has been successful in getting a job at the Co op up the road, running the bakery dept, so today was his 'training' at another shop with a bakery. No I don't know why it had to be another shop, especially as he tells me their stock rotation is different, the ovens are different and the product lines are possibly not the same.... but hey, he's happy to have some sort of work for now until he decides what and where he wants to do/go. We were up at 05:00. He was due to train until 10:30 but had done everything by 09:30 so I picked him up and we went out for breakfast.
We had a chat about waking up with a numb hand or arm - as you do - and he very nearly had to give me first aid when he said that he once woke up with his numb hand on his chest and thought a frog had somehow jumped in through the window and landed on his chest (?? in his defense he was half asleep). The mental image of him batting his own arm off himself in a panic has had me breaking out into snortly giggles all day.
The mail order cake business has gone off like a rocket - for now at least. Lots of friends are being supportive and ordering things but now I'm also getting non-friend orders and re-orders. It does take up an extraordinary amount of my time though so the diary blips may be the way it goes for a while.
I have also seen the proofs of the cook book today and I have to say that it is just beautiful. I am beyond delighted with it :)
Just poured a glass of Chateau Collapseau so I will pop off now to enjoy it before an early bed because G has another O Dark Hundred Hours start in the morning.
