Diary of an Edinburgher

I miss two action shots...

Popped round to the furniture place to pay for the new table and chairs, and bought a nice TV table to match. I turned the CD player volume down as I passed it. No one noticed.

JR went to the supermarket, dropping me off at the canal. But it was such a grey day, the light was dull and it was windy, so no reflections, that it wasn’t such a good idea.

I now use Manual settings all the time - something I never did before, because the E-P5 controls are so handy and quick to change and the Live View shows exactly what's happening. However, I wasn't quick enough today. I had my settings all wrong for an unexpected action shot, as this girl suddenly leapt along the bollards squealing with delight. But she’ll have to do today, as all the other shots were even less inspiring. And at least she covers up part of the bleh sky.

I walked back over the Links. No lovely dogs out playing. A small group of toddlers, perhaps about 4 or 5 (age, not amount) were there. The dad was kicking a football about with his toddler daughter, and the three boys were playing a bit away from him. He was obviously in charge of them, as I could see two mums far away, yakking on a bench. Two of the boys were playing together. One boy had a big bow and arrow, presumably with a rubber stopper on the end. The other boy was holding the target, which was about the size of large dinner plate.

As I came nearer, I could see that all the arrows shot fell right in front of the archer. It’s like that panel game where they stop the action and ask what happened next. But you’d all get it right. Yes, one arrow actually went a bit further, missed the target and hit the boy on the face. The mums came running. Dad was in trouble, I reckon. I don't think the boy was badly hurt, though. It would have made a terrific action shot. *sigh*

Might do a bit more packing. Might not.
