Oooo - er

Got problems with the old desktop, tried to do a back up yesterday but it seemed the screen was frozen most of the time and it just wouldn't play.
Found out I had about two minutes between boot up and freeze to do anything so this afternoon been playing with turning off programs at boot up (like BT help and iTunes etc) to get a bit more headroom then turned off processes from the task manager.
Now running a full system scan at about 1/4 of the normal speed, then it's download the Error repair tool to patch up the damaged files and hopefully get the cpu back.
Then I can get rid of all the redundant software.
Good fun, well it would be if I knew what I was doing.........
