Urban Wildlife
We drove over the hill to San Jose today for a special treat: dim sum lunch at the Joy Luck Palace. We've been going there for years, and every time we find another new and delicious treat. Today's was something called "Japanese Style," and was either the creamiest tofu ever, or a square of custard. Some things remain a mystery.
Then we followed a recommendation from JustSeanD and took a walk in Vasona County Park, which is a remarkable urban oasis. Lots of hiking trails, a meandering creek, big lake and views of nearby mountains. It's one of those places we've seen from the highway for, what, thirty years?, and finally took the time to explore. Worth every minute.
Not sure what this bird is; the Blue Heron has a White Phase, so, maybe. More likely an egret, which are common here, but it didn't appear to have a hairdo the way they generally do. I'll settle for Magical White Bird at the End of Our Walk.
btw, MisterS has started to blip...
