Broken Barn

We headed back to Wellington today, and it took us all day!

After such a horrid day yesterday, this morning dawned clear, sunshine and snow on the hills to the west of Marsterton. We headed into Queen Elizabeth Park for a wander though the trees and around the pond. Did the mandatory duck feeding. More playground fun followed. Then off to the wetlands close by...brilliant. A 20 minute walk took us over an hour, Ella and Harry loved it as we did.

Lots of photos followed throughout the day at various stops along the way, but I couldn't go past this one. I love old buildings in the rural scene.

Raining and very windy, the weather changed as I was driving over the Rumatuka's (mountain range just north of Wellington) , bit scary and glad we had a heavy vehicle. There have been a number of vehicles blown off the road and down into the valleys over the years.

We've been out for dinner tonight, we are all tired, the kids are tucked up and it won't be long before I head there also. A day at home tomorrow, quiet time for grand kids and grandparents.
