Flying Fox

This cute-looking chap is a common sight on the island of Silhouette, found circling the beaches and dangling from the breadfruit trees,. They're not hard to spot - fruit bats are the largest in the world.

Seen close up, it's clear how they got their other name, as they really do have the small-eared, large-eyed facial features of a fox.

Sadly, despite being endangered, flying fox pâté was also seen on a few menus, but I'm happy to say that there still seemed to be plenty happily hanging around this evening.
