A love / hate relationship!!

I have been working on this box for what seems like "a life time"!!

We had a break in classes from Easter until last week, so little progress made. I fitted the veneer which was a nightmare; it grew in width, and then shrunk!! Had to be unstuck, eased in to place and then stuck down again. The beading has now been fitted and next step is to sand it down to achieve a smooth surface before polishing.

I hate this box!!! What you cannot see in the blip is the cracks in the veneer. If I’d had my way I would have ditched the first piece of veneer and started again with a second piece. Then having learned from my mistakes made a better job the second time round.

Class this evening, trying to generate some enthusiasm :0(

I will finish it eventually and maybe love it a bit more!!
