Happy Birthday Henry!

5 years old today - and although his parents haven't been around all week, he has been such a good, grown-up brave fellow.
His birthday treat is to drive out to an adventure park which has attractions like almost 500 metres of a luge run, the same distance bobsleigh run, mechanical horses, runaway trains (roller coaster) little boats.....

It was very hot, but both Henry and Hannah had the time of their lives (not to mention the adults), and even though Ed got stung on the hand by a wasp and dropped and broke our long-serving thermos flask, the enjoyment didn't suffer at all - apart from the lack of a decent cup of tea.
If you ask for tea in France you generally get a small cup of lukewarm herbal shit which wouldn't go with milk even if the tight bastards bothered to offer you any. And you can forget about sugar. When the temperature is 36 degrees, you need a decent cup of tea and not fizzy water. Even beer doesn't do the job.
Ask for coffee and you get a thimble full of poo and no cream. Even in Italy a few years ago I asked for a latte in my best Italian and got a glass of warm milk. How was I supposed to know that you have to specify that you want coffee in it? I doesn't matter how you ask in France, you won't get a decent cup of tea.

But apart from breaking the flask, it was a bloody superb day out. Henry had his cake and candles (that we eventually managed to find the previous day) and was well pleased, especially as the cake turned out to be so tasty.

We all got pissed after that.
