Wonderful World

Today is the school's annual 'Homecoming'. As this is the 150th year anniversary, we were expecting a record turn out, and we weren't disappointed. Several hundred nostalgic ex-students flooding the theatre for roll call (when they stand up according to their graduating year, today going right back to the class of 1949) after which the school orchestra played a couple of songs. The highlight of their performance being when they were joined by a band of graduates from 1969 - who still like to rock - and together they performed Louis Armstrong's classsic "Wonderful World" with a scrolling slide show of photographs showing school bands from days long gone by. Nostalgia overdose, but heart warming for me at the end of a heart heavy week.
